Three key elements of marketing to catch the audience’s attention

This article was originally published in Economic Daily

Last time, we talked about the three elements of writing an eye-catching headline. Next, let’s introduce some key marketing elements that attract attention:

Element 1: Commitment

The first element is commitment: When writing an article, if you can make a specific commitment, it will naturally affect the reader’s perception. It is recommended to make good use of promises when placing bids to let readers know what benefits or benefits they can get after reading this copy… In this way, everyone will naturally be willing to take a second look!

If you want to write an ideal promise-style title, you must first target the pain points and needs of the target audience. Having said that, many times the consumer public is not unwilling to buy your company’s products, but it may not be able to directly meet their needs, or it may not be easy to overcome some complex and difficult pain points. So, the next time you are selling something, remember to provide a specific guarantee or promise.

For example, I saw an enrollment copy for a cooking class before. It said: “Give me 30 minutes to teach you five home-cooked dishes!” You must know that “food is the first thing for people” and the public is generally very interested in eating. But then again, why do many people still “gentlemen stay away from the kitchen”? The reason is very simple, not because cooking is difficult to learn, but because modern people are generally busy, and everyone is afraid that the preparatory work of cooking is troublesome or simply hates the smell of cooking fumes in the kitchen. Therefore, this cooking school publicly promised to teach everyone how to cook five home-cooked dishes in half an hour, and it really attracted a lot of attention!

Element 2: Curiosity

The second element is curiosity: If you can add some creativity when subscribing, it will not only satisfy the public’s curiosity, but also make people look forward to this article.

An intriguing title can often make readers curiosity and thirst for knowledge, and they want to look for clues from the text. Therefore, when conceiving the title, you also need to think from another perspective and start from the reader’s perspective to make the title of the article more attractive.

In daily life, we often see some surprising messages. For example, I have read the titles of some articles, such as: Why is Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May? Why is “Demon Slayer” so popular? How to choose delicious oranges? These questions can arouse everyone’s curiosity and even make people smile!

Element 3: Data

The third element, data: People usually believe in information and data, and also worship authority. If you can add some credible institutions, such as data or research reports surveyed by government departments, research institutions or well-known universities, to the article, it will naturally increase the value and readability of the article.

One day, I saw a magazine report that said: “Harvard University’s 75-year happiness study: A good life is built on good relationships.” When you see such a title, do you want to continue reading? There was also an article that impressed me before: “According to a survey by the LEGO Group, three times more children want to be YouTubers than want to be astronauts!” When I saw this title, it immediately caught my attention!

In fact, subscripting is not as difficult as imagined, but the real difficulty is actually how to cite many sources and write about the issues that make people feel!
