I still remember that one day in May 2017, I accidentally received a letter from Tianpei Publishing House. In view of the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Chinese version, the publisher hopes to launch a new revised edition. I hope to excerpt a piece of my text and put it into the new book as a recommendation.

I should be considered to have grown up reading the children’s books translated by Ms. Ling Yue, right? Especially “Homework Doing Co., Ltd.” and “Chocolate War”, these two books left the deepest impression on me. …Looking back now, maybe it was certain that I would embark on the journey of starting a business (or so-called “freelance worker”). I was quietly inspired when I read “Homework Doing Co., Ltd.” back then, right?

I readily agreed to this matter and was happy to see the results. After all, the children’s book “Homework Doing Co., Ltd.” means a lot to me, and I am very grateful for its companionship. Recalling when I read this book when I was a child, I lamented that I couldn’t finish my homework and also had the idea of ​​​​starting a business.

I am really happy to see this book appear again in front of me. It seems to have brought back the beautiful memories of my childhood and also evoked my dream of literary creation. The only regret is that the two elders, the translator Ling Yue and the author Furuta Ashikabi, have passed away one after another.

In gratitude for the contributions of these two literary creators, I was reminded of my childhood memories while reading “Books Doing Homework Co., Ltd.”. Of course it is not advisable to do homework for others, but what if you start a company that provides consulting services? For new startup teams, if they can start from the perspective of “solving problems”, I think it will be a good entry point!
