Do a good job in self-management and make good use of your morning diary to realize your dreams
They say “life is short”, have you ever thought about how to live a wonderful life every day? If we regard ourselves as a book waiting to be edited, then how should we plan and operate content?
I previously participated in the “Dream Morning Reading Meeting” co-organized by Peng Xiaoliu (opens in a new tab) and Jianshu. I listened to Teacher Xiaoliu share a good book with friends from all over the world at 6:30 every morning, and I felt that it was very rewarding. Starting from April, the good book that Teacher Xiao Liu is reading happens to be “[The Space Left for You by Evernote]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/produ (opens in a new tab)) written by the trainer friend Li Shen (opens in a new tab) cts/CN11349007?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201704)》, which also reminds me of Evernote, which has been dusty for a long time.
When it comes to morning journaling, I’m actually no stranger to it. A long time ago, I read “The Miracle of the Morning Diary” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010446622?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap (opens in a new tab)) written by the Japanese writer Sato Den -books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201704)”, and also saw my friend Teacher Zhang Yongxi writing [Morning Diary] through Evernote (http://blog.xuite.net/twhsi/Blog/63292049 (opens in a new tab)). Teacher Yongxi (opens in a new tab) started writing his morning diary on January 6, 2006. Twelve years have passed in the blink of an eye! He uses his morning diary to record the growth of his children and himself, which is indeed a very precious asset (opens in a new tab).
“Ten years to sharpen a sword” is easy to say, but often very difficult to do. I also tried to keep a morning diary back then, but unfortunately I didn’t stick to it. Although I understood the benefits of recording, I still couldn’t internalize it into my own habit. This time it is based on studying “[The Space Left for You by Evernote]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/CN11349007?utm_source=vista&utm_mediu (opens in a new tab) m=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201704)” and meeting Teacher Li Shen on WeChat also inspired me to use Evernote again to write morning diaries and do daily operations.
I directly used the template shared by Teacher Yongxi (opens in a new tab) before, and after a few adjustments, I started to enter the stage of self-reflection and recording. There are many enthusiastic friends on the Internet who share their designed or improved templates (opens in a new tab), but as mentioned in this article (opens in a new tab), you must not fall into the trap of constantly changing templates!
The key point in writing a morning diary is to practice it first.
It is true that everyone wants to find a pleasing template or a layout they like, but don’t forget that the purpose of writing a morning diary is to awaken your memory and use digital tools to talk to yourself. If you spend too much time adjusting the layout, or stick to the formality, you are putting the cart before the horse!
In addition, don’t write your diary as an article. Simply spending ten minutes to review yesterday or look forward to today will be of great help to you. After all, the time in the early morning is precious. In addition to self-inventory, there are more important things waiting for us such as reading and exercising!
In addition to continuing to write, there is another important point to make full use of your morning diary, and that is to remember to review. As Teacher Yongxi (opens in a new tab) said, looking at the flow of life in the past seven days, you can add the next step in time, or supplement and summarize past records.
The diary is not just written and thrown away. Please remember to take time to review it every week. Otherwise, it is just a meaningless running account!
Self-operation relies on continuous learning, practice and correction. And through the help of morning diary, we can meet our three needs. Dear friends, let’s write a morning diary together!
