Time flies and the weekend comes again in a blink of an eye. In today’s program, I want to talk to you about three good books I read this week, namely: “[The Development of a Mythical Beast in the Workplace] (https://bit.ly/3gbXUdK)”, “[Reverse Engineering, the Secret of You and I Can Become Excellent] (https://bit.ly/3HaAyBe)” and “[Ordinary People’s Ways to Financial Freedom] (https://bit.ly/3HiTiPi)”.
The first book I want to share with you is “The Development of a Mythical Beast in the Workplace”. The author of this book, [Bai Huilan] (https://www.facebook.com/cypai), is my Facebook friend. I got acquainted with her before because of my participation in the “Work Life Home” community activity. I am very happy to hear that she has published a new book and shared with everyone her valuable experience in the workplace for more than ten years.
Sister Xiaobai mentioned in the book that many people are afraid of supervisors and regard them as “ghosts”. In fact, this is unnecessary.
She suggested that everyone should not refute the supervisor’s opinions in public, but should change their mentality. When encountering important things, you must report, report and report again. Thinking of yourself as a primary school student will not make you look naive, but you will be able to talk to your supervisor through reports and records, giving him the confidence to catch you.
In addition, there is a lot to learn about getting along with colleagues. I agree very much with what Sister Xiaobai said: You don’t have to force yourself to like these colleagues. You can cooperate with people you hate without even pretending. The reason is simple, because colleagues are “a group of people who work together”. The purpose of getting together is not because of common interests, hobbies or values, but the relationship formed in the same organization to satisfy the interests of the organization. As long as you think clearly about this relationship, you will naturally know how to deal with difficult colleagues!
The second book I want to share with you is “[Reverse Engineering, the secret for both you and me to become excellent] (https://bit.ly/3HaAyBe)”. When I first saw this book in a bookstore, I was attracted by its title. Coming from an information background, I am no stranger to reverse engineering. But the interesting thing is that I know how to reverse engineer products, but I don’t know how to make myself better through reverse engineering.
[Reverse Engineering](https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse Engineering), also known as reverse engineering, is a technical process, which is to conduct reverse analysis and research on a project or product to deduce and derive the product’s processing flow, organizational structure, functional performance specifications and other design elements to produce products with similar functions but not exactly the same.
After reading this book carefully, I discovered that the author of this book advocates “learn it in reverse and you will get it”! This book collects a large number of cases of successful people and finds the formula for success through deconstruction. If you add your own interpretation, you can create your own version of achievement!
For example, the author dismantled the speech process delivered by Sir Ken Robinson at the TED conference in 2006 and the structure of Apple’s official website, allowing us to quickly grasp the key to their success. I very much agree with the author’s point of view, that is: it is not enough to learn to dismantle the secrets of successful people. We must also add a little ingenuity, internalize it into our own version, and then create a unique business model.
The last good book I would like to recommend to everyone is “[Ordinary People’s Ways to Financial Freedom] (https://bit.ly/3HiTiPi)” written by John Lee Dumas. At first glance, this book seems to be related to investment and financial management. I even mistakenly thought that the author was going to talk about how to achieve financial freedom (FIRE)? Later, when I carefully studied the catalog, I discovered that this was not the case.
The author of this book is an entrepreneur and the founder and host of the well-known podcast program “[Entrepreneur in Full Fire] (https://www.eofire.com/podcast/)”. He updates an episode of the program every day, and the theme revolves around the sharing of entrepreneurial experience. For example, the well-known Tony Robbins (https://www.tonyrobbins.com), Barbara Cochran (https://www.barbaracorcoran.com), Seth Godin (https://seths.blog) and Gary Vaynerchuk (https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com) have all appeared on his program.
John Lee Dumas spreads the Entrepreneurship flame through his program. There are more than 3,000 episodes of the program, with more than 1 million monthly listens, and the total listening volume exceeds 100 million times. It can be said to be a remarkable achievement. In this book, the author generously shares his experience in starting a business through podcasting. I think whether you are a content creator, or want to start a business, build a personal brand, you should read this book!
