Speaking of design presentations, whether you are a college student or an office worker, you must often have the opportunity to make presentations. The problem is that the design brief seems simple, but problems will be discovered after actually doing it, so it often feels like one thing is bigger than the other. What should we do to design an eye-catching presentation?

In today’s program, I am very happy to invite [Qin Zhenjia] (Qin Zhenjia), co-founder of the “Content Hacker” website (https://www.contenthacker.today/p/fabius.html), to talk to you about this topic. Mr. Qin has many years of experience in media and public relations. He is also currently teaching at a university of science and technology. He is good at content marketing planning. He also has long-term production of various types of client proposals and teaching briefings.

Teacher Qin Zhenjia pointed out that three things to be clear when designing a briefing are: who do you want to talk to, how do you want to talk, and what do you want to talk about? Having said that, only by clarifying the purpose and motivation of the briefing, and knowing the target audience clearly, can we design an engaging briefing.

Therefore, the first step in designing a briefing is not to turn on the computer and start searching for information, but to first understand the preferences and needs of the target audience, and then understand the market trends and create a briefing accordingly. Of course, if you can make good use of current events and festivals to make use of the topic, you can also hope to add more highlights to the presentation.

Regarding the resources for presentations, Teacher Qin also recommended Pixabay and Pakutaso, two useful free libraries. The former has more than 2.5 million high-quality pictures, which can be called a comprehensive library of considerable scale. The latter is from Japan and currently has more than 41,000 pictures on the site. The most distinctive one is a series of photos of Japanese people.

Teacher Qin mentioned that many people spend a lot of time choosing templates when designing presentations. In fact, in addition to paying attention to the beauty of the layout, we also need to consider the overall content strategy and the information density of the presentation content.

To put it simply, you can’t make the entire briefing look high-level by adding a bunch of proper nouns and terminology. This will make the briefing appear too profound and may lose its original function. He suggested that everyone should observe other people’s works when they have time. In addition to learning from others’ strengths, we can also reflect and slowly establish our own [style] (https://www.vistacheng.com/2022/01/how-to-develop-a-writing-style.html).

For those who are interested in further studying briefing design, Teacher Qin finally recommends two books, namely “[The Story Power of the Briefing Queen] (https://bit.ly/3g5bcZO)” and “[Layout Research Institute] (https://bit.ly/3KNyCkl)”. You are welcome to refer to it when you have time!
