How to write articles that are different from others

As a writing coach, I often have the opportunity to meet a group of friends who are either interested in writing or frustrated by it. People often ask me: “Teacher, how do I write a compelling article?” or “How do I write an article that is different from others?”

The answer is simple, you should try to make your writing easy to understand and provide unique perspective and value. Of course, everyone knows the truth and it is usually not difficult, but it is not easy to do it─but I think it can still be done! At least, we can turn to ourselves, start from daily life, train ourselves to observe things around us keenly at any time, raise various imaginations and questions, and then refine our own thinking system and have the courage to express our opinions.

Analyze thinking ability from daily training

This seems to be quite similar to what I mentioned to my writing class classmates. I encourage students not only to write more articles, but also to read more newspapers, magazines or blogs to observe articles written by others. Of course, there is a way to read an article: not just read the content itself, but also pay attention to the structure of the article, the entry point, the level and implication that the author is really concerned about; in addition, you can also think about whether you agree with the author’s point of view, or whether you can raise questions? Then, you can also refer to the author’s arrangement of details such as article presentation and layout.

The magical power of writing

What a sincere statement! If you want to learn writing skills well, you might as well think about the purpose of writing first. Do you want to share your opinions, express your inner feelings and emotions, or just write for the sake of writing? The message we want to convey to the world should be a valuable point of view, but it would be a pity if it is just an empty chapter that makes no excuses! You know, if you just pile up gorgeous words between the lines, beauty will be beautiful, but it will not last, let alone move people’s hearts…

Views come from deep thinking

The so-called point of view is to put forward one’s own views on things or issues from a certain standpoint or angle. If you want to write an interesting chapter, naturally you can’t just stay at the level that can be seen with the eyes, but you have to start from your perspective and think about the true nature and meaning of things. In other words, you can’t just write some scene words. If you really feel it, it is best to have ideas that can be helpful or valuable to everyone.

In fact, it is not just dancers who need to do the homework of observation, it is the same for all creators. This is a basic skill. If we say that opening up feelings is called creation; then only by bravely expressing your opinions can the article truly have its own life.
