Time flies, and the second phase of “[Vista Writing Companion Program] (https://www.facebook.com/vista.writing.program)” launched on April 1 this year has been going on for more than a month. Partners have also submitted their own study plans and handed in their assignments according to the agreed time.
Practice doesn’t lie
As the saying goes, “The master leads the door, and the practice is personal.” If you just dive in the “Vista Writing Companion Program” group and just absorb the various sharings I provide specifically for students without practicing, you will definitely not make progress. The reason is simple. After all, “practice will never lie.”
As your writing coach and companion, I am very happy to see that the members of the second period are very active: not only do they work hard on their homework, but they also often take the time to ask questions and discuss. Over the past month or so, I have seen the growth of my partners, and I feel a little gratified because I have achieved my original goal of planning this project.

Sabrina’s writing journey
Take [Sabina] (https://www.facebook.com/getrich.gift/), a member of this issue, as an example. After she signed up for this writing companionship program, she made an appointment with me to discuss her study plan. Not only did she quickly register a domain name, she also established her own blog “[Asha Flower Money Dream] (https://www.getrich.gift/)” with my assistance. What’s even more commendable is that despite being busy at work and being the mother of two lovely children, she still continues to publish articles on her blog and discusses article writing methods and techniques with me from time to time. In May alone, three articles have been published, which is really not easy!
Take the recent article “The Handsome Director of Life Direction Taxi Escorts, Alang is here!” as an example. After she wrote the first draft of the article, she sent it to me for review. I also provided some feedback after reading it. For example, I think Alang’s life story is very interesting, but when writing, don’t just copy it, you can try to add a little more layering…
Sabina immediately asked me: “What is layering? How should I write it to be more vivid?” I reminded her not to just describe Alang’s story from her own perspective, but to try to quote some real stories and add some emotional connections. Alternatively, you can also use the concept of time and space to describe the sceneries by alternating distance and distance, so that readers can have a better understanding of Alang’s story.
In addition, I also agree with [Lee Rock] (https://www.facebook.com/novels.rock)‘s opinion in the article “[[Writing Teaching] Story Composition - Character Chapter (Part 2) Character Notes] (https://www.rocknovels.com/3_15.html)”: Instead of rigidly describing the character’s personality, it is better to write down what the character will do, what he has experienced, and what will he do? Let him perform, and the tension and depth of the character will be clearly revealed.
I also agree that character stories are actually not easy to write. Taking this article recently published by Sabina as “The Handsome Director of Life Direction Taxi Escorts, Alang is here!”, there is indeed some room for improvement, such as the use of punctuation marks and rhetoric, etc., which can be improved. But overall, it’s a good start!
Writing is a process of accumulation
If you also want to learn writing, but are worried that you can’t learn it, don’t worry too much. You can follow the example of Sabina: publish articles regularly, seize opportunities to ask questions, and constantly improve your writing skills…
In fact, writing is a process of accumulation. As long as you are willing to work hard and have someone to give you guidance, I believe you will definitely make progress!
