Now, I spend most of my time as a business consultant and lecturer, and I also record online courses. But because I have served in the Internet industry and media for a long time, I still often dabble in relevant information in the business management field.

Bezos talks about the relationship between process and results

I once read an article about the CEO of the global e-commerce giant Amazon Bezos (Jeff Bezos)’s article was quite touching. He mentioned that don’t let work process replace results and become the indicator of whether things are good or bad.

Bezos said that “following the rules” is quite common in large companies, but this will make you stop looking at the results and only care about whether the process is done correctly?

“Always ask yourself, do we own the process, or are we controlled by the process?”

Reading this passage from Bezos reminded me of writing notes. If you think about it carefully, the same is true for note-taking - looking around in life, it is not difficult to find that some friends must turn on the computer to record, or they must use their usual grid notebook or horizontal stripe notebook to express their creativity.

Get free from the framework

The grid lines on the notebook really help us organize, making the layout clearer and easier to read. Of course, they can also provide guidance for recording. But I have also seen many people rewrite the notes after taking notes in order to organize a beautiful notebook.

There is no right or wrong way to take notes, but we might as well think about whether we are constrained by these established frameworks and formats? Has your behavior pattern become rigid because of this?

Thinking about it from another angle, can you be liberated from squares and horizontal stripes and find your own style and direction?

Humans and our tools co-evolved. We change the tools, and then the tools change us.

In recent years, through running “I Love Writing Notes”, the largest note-taking community in Taiwan, I have gotten to know many people with similar interests. I am very happy to see that many children and adults are able to organize their thoughts through notes, and even have a lot of fun from it.
