“Living in Taipei is not easy.” My study room is not big. There are bookcases on each side of the room, and there are piles of books on the floor. What scares me most is not tidying up the room, but the sudden and unexpected earthquake.

Anyone who has visited my room and saw this scene will easily guess that the owner of the room is a person who loves reading, right? And I am also proud of my love for reading.

Ever since I was a child, I have always believed in the truth that “a rich family does not need to buy fertile land, there is thousands of bells of millet in the book; there is no need to build a high hall to live in peace, there is a house of gold in the book; don’t hate an unscrupulous matchmaker when marrying a wife, there is a beauty like jade in the book.” As long as I have a few good books to accompany me, even if I am locked in a small room for a few days, I can enjoy myself and even feel happy. Because, you can get the power of wisdom and peace from reading between the lines.

Perhaps due to the influence of my parents, I have loved reading books since I was a child, and I have been able to appreciate the fun and various gains that reading brings me. I always feel extremely comfortable when I am immersed in the world of words. Needless to say, I can also gain a lot of knowledge. Although I laugh at myself as a bookworm and spend countless money on books, I have never regretted it because reading has enriched my life.

When I grew up, I never changed my habit of reading and buying books. I also liked to recommend books and periodicals to my relatives and friends, and occasionally I would write prefaces for some publishers and recommend new books. After reading books for so many years, I feel that reading is a very cheap and convenient enjoyment. For the price of a movie ticket, you can enjoy a feast of knowledge for an entire afternoon or even several days. There is almost no leisure activity that is more convenient and cheaper than this, so why not do it?

Everyone knows that the development of the publishing industry has been sluggish in recent years, and there are fewer and fewer bookstores on Chongqing South Road. But the pleasure and rewards of reading are so obvious. Even if technology advances and business develops, it will still be difficult to replace reading.

Netizens say that there are four unbelievable things in the world, including: British research, South Korean origin, Taiwan reporting and Made in China. I have always been worried about the fact that a person only reads two books a year. I really don’t know where this data comes from?

When I was a student, I read a lot to prepare for homework or prepare for college entrance examinations; but after entering the society, the number of friends who can continue to read began to decrease sharply. Perhaps because everyone is busy with work, many people shelved their books. It is really a pity when you think about it.

The matter of reading is actually very simple. In the past, I liked to immerse myself in a book alone, but now, I prefer reading with a group of friends.

In the past ten years, I have participated in countless book clubs, regularly gathering with a group of friends from all walks of life to read together. Over the past few years, we have read books on psychology, user experience, online marketing, mobile software and social context, etc. Not only have we increased our knowledge, but we have also seen the world from different perspectives and angles.
