Introduction to Publishizer publishing fundraising platform

There is recent news in the Netherlands that a cloud-based book publishing and fundraising platform Publishizer has received a funding investment of 376,000 euros from venture capital. The special thing about this new startup, which is still in the seed stage, is that authors can freely propose proposals on the platform and then pre-sell them on the platform. If the pre-sale results meet the standards, Publishizer will help propose a book to the publisher for printing.

[Guy Vincent] (https://www.linkedin.com/in/guymv/), the founder and CEO of this Kickstarter in the publishing industry, said that the company was founded because millions of book proposals on the market every year are rejected by publishers, but they want to use the Internet to change the ecology of the traditional publishing industry so that potential books can come to the fore. And who decides whether a book is good or bad? That’s readers on the Internet.

If you have a good idea for publishing a book, you only need to enter the title on the [Publishizer] (https://publishizer.com/) website, write an introduction of about 1,000 words, and then send it out. The company’s team will then review it. Once reviewed, your idea can be auctioned online to see if there is any way to achieve the fundraising goal you set.

Then Publishizer will use algorithms to push book proposals based on variables such as quality, type, number of purchases, etc. Readers can contribute, and publishers can come here to observe and find books they may publish. Publishers can also use the big data of this platform to improve the way they find authors and the publishing process.

Platform achievements and cooperative publishing houses

Publishizer was founded in 2014. In just a few years, it helped authors negotiate with publishers to publish more than 700 books, and helped authors successfully sell 73,000 books online, raising US$1.7 million in funding. Such good results have been achieved in such a short period of time, which shows that the business model of this platform has been recognized by traditional publishing houses.

There are currently 300multiple publishers on the platform. Well-known publishers such as HarperCollins Leadership in the United States, Findhorn Press in the United Kingdom, Meyer & Meyer Sport in Germany, and Management Impact in the Netherlands are all on its customer list.

I’m curious about how authors who want to publish books on the platform sell their books? Here are some cases:

  • Neal Schaffer, The Business of Influence, explains why the digital era is now the influencer era, and how it now plays a significant role in spreading a message online.
  • Xanet Pailet, Living an Orgasmic Life, on how to reclaim passion and pleasure in your sex life.
  • Maia Williamson, The People Out There, a collection of travel stories that shows the potential synchronicity of strangers and the significance of each encounter.
  • Gennaro Cuofano, DuckDuckGo vs. Google, inspired by a viral blog post the book offers a fresh perspective on the future of the internet.
