Speaking of writing, do you like writing? When you started writing, did you ever encounter any bottlenecks or problems?
As a corporate consultant and lecturer, I often have the opportunity to teach everywhere and even comment on or correct articles written by many people.
Writing is something that I can do almost without thinking. But I suddenly discovered that this is not the case for some friends. It often takes them two or three hours to write a product copy or blog article… or even half a day!
Well, this sounds really hard and not very economical. Therefore, some copywriting course students or consulting clients often ask me, how can I write articles quickly?
About How to write articles quickly and well? I must say that besides relying on deliberate practice, there are certainly methods and tips for this. First of all, I think you can try to dismantle your own article writing process and see where you get stuck? Or which link did you spend the most time on?
Take writing a blog article as an example. I will break it down into many small tasks, such as: finding the topic, coming up with an entry point, setting a call to action, collecting featured images, writing the article, formatting the manuscript, and promoting it…etc.
At the same time, I will also pre-conceive: What is the purpose and motivation of writing this article, and who is it for? And what is the value and meaning conveyed by the content?
Then, there is no need to rush to turn on the computer during the ideation or ideation stage, let alone desperately search for information from the beginning! I suggest you think calmly first and think about which groups of people are interested in the articles you write? And what help or benefit can this article bring them?
As the saying goes, “make a decision before taking action.” It is recommended that you spend a few minutes thinking about the links in the project, and then start writing after you have figured it out. I think it will be more efficient!
From my own experience, every time I write a blog post, it only takes about half an hour (https://www.contenthacker.today/2019/02/write-your-blog-post-faster.html). If you are quick, you can even finish it within twenty minutes! And, of course, within this half hour it’s not just about writing articles, it also includes finding topics, looking for pictures, editing pictures, submitting manuscripts and formatting…
Of course, I am not taking this to show off how powerful I am, after all, “the strongest will always have the best”! In fact, in addition to the “practice makes perfect” reason, the reason why I was able to complete an article so quickly was not because I was full of ideas every time I wrote, but because of the long-term writing and extensive reading, which allowed me to successfully master some methods and techniques.
