Hey, I know what you’re thinking? When you see the title of this article, you are probably thinking: I am neither a piano teacher nor a piano classroom… Why do you still recommend this book?
Well, to be honest, it’s not surprising to think so! Because five years ago, when I first read the previous work written by this author, “[Super Successful Piano Classroom Management Encyclopedia: Seven Rules for Student Recruitment]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/001 0668831?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-202004)》, I thought so myself. But I must also say that I really like the book written by this author!
After five years of absence, Takuhiro Fuji, the head of the “Lira Music” piano classroom, finally launched a new book “[Super Successful Piano Classroom Marketing Encyclopedia: Seven Strategies for Brand Management]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/pr oducts/0010852915?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-202004)》. He integrated his valuable experience in running a piano classroom and summarized seven brand management strategies. From the establishment and management of personal brands to marketing know-how, he comprehensively dismantled and analyzed the unbeatable elements of a successful brand without reservation.
On the surface, [this book](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010852915?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_ campaign=ap-202004) is written for piano teachers who are interested in increasing the value of personal brand and operators who want to increase the scale of their music classroom brand. But in fact, this book is also suitable for friends who are not engaged in music teaching. This book may seem light and short at first glance, but the author is able to explain many aspects of operations and marketing in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, which is quite commendable.
For me, although I know nothing about music theory, there is no obstacle at all in reading this book. What’s even better is that you can feel the author’s enthusiasm for teaching from the lines. Coupled with the great illustrations, you can even feel his enthusiasm and unique insights into building a personal brand. It took me less than an hour to finish reading this book. Although the whole book focuses on the topic of “classroom branding”, as a professional lecturer and corporate consultant, I also feel that I have benefited a lot and there is something to learn from it.
For example, the author mentioned in the book that teachers face severe challenges, so they must keep pace with the times and constantly let themselves grow. This also reminds me that due to the recent [coronavirus] (https://jumpstart.best/marketing-covid-19/) epidemic, many courses or educational training, whether in the corporate world or academic institutions, have been changed to online methods. This is undoubtedly a greater challenge for many teachers…
Therefore, the author of this book strongly recommends that teachers should not only have professional qualities, but also actively build their own [personal brands] (https://jumpstart.best/courses/vista-personal-branding/). In order to enhance his brand value, he also proposed three necessary ways of thinking, namely:
- Create differentiation.
- Be confident and have the strength to defeat others.
- Communicate your advantages into information.
Well, the three ways of thinking introduced to you above are indeed very important and not difficult to understand. Here, I would like to talk specifically about what is meant by “transforming advantages into information”?
The author said that being a teacher has a very sacred mission, but nowadays it is not enough to preach, teach and explain. If you cannot convey your advantages and differences to the target audience, it will be difficult for the public to know your characteristics. Having said that, we are indeed in an era where “the smell of wine is also afraid of the depth of the alley”! Only by conveying your personal brand generously will others be able to leave a deep impression on you.
In addition to teaching ability, the author further points out that teachers and piano classroom operators must also have three abilities: the ability to invest in oneself, the ability to market oneself, and the ability to maintain enthusiasm. Well, these three abilities are indeed very important, and I think all of them are indispensable.
All in all, I highly recommend everyone to read this great book. In addition, when it comes to building a personal brand, I will soon launch an online course “[Personal Brand Management Practice] (https://jumpstart.best/courses/vista-personal-branding/)” on Yotta, which is expected to start fundraising on April 21. If you are interested, you are welcome to register!
──Yes, of course this is also a way of “investing in yourself”.
