How to do SEO from scratch

Speaking of SEO, also known as search engine optimization or search engine optimization, I believe everyone is familiar with it and may have heard of this term.

According to Wikipedia, Search Engine Optimization (English: Search Engine Optimization (abbreviated as SEO) is a method of adjusting a website by understanding the operating rules of search engines and improving the ranking of the target website within the relevant search engines. Since many studies have found that many search engine users tend to only pay attention to the first few items in the search results, many websites hope to use various methods to influence the ranking of search engines so that their websites can have excellent search rankings.

The so-called “optimization for search engines” refers to making the website more easily accepted by search engines. Search engines will compare relevant content between websites, and then the browser will present the content to searchers in the fastest and most complete way. In other words, search engine optimization is to optimize through search engine rules to create a better user experience for users. The ultimate goal is to provide a good user experience.

Once you understand the visitors’ intentions and how to answer their questions, you can start to construct your own SEO blueprint.

If you want to know the popularity of certain keywords on Google, you can make good use of various SEO tools on the market, such as Ubersuggest or Keywordtool and other online services. After you have taken stock of popular keywords, you need to make good use of this information and use SEO operations combined with content production to improve search rankings.

For example, if you are engaged in the tourism industry and provide in-depth tour guide services in Huadong, in addition to strengthening service quality, you also need to think about what related keywords people search for when they want to travel to Hualien, Taitung and other places? Let’s take a look at what related content will appear on the first page of the search results?

I know that some companies will outsource SEO work to professional Internet companies, which is certainly good. But if there is not enough budget for the time being, can they do SEO on their own? I think the answer is of course yes.

Here, I will share with you three tips for doing SEO without spending money:

The first tip is to create a memorable title for your article.

According to foreign research, people now only spend an average of one second quickly scanning headlines. Therefore, if you cannot place an eye-catching headline, it will soon be covered up by other information!

I’m not asking you to sensationalize, but you can put some keywords appropriately when subscribing to highlight your company’s professionalism and the urgency of related events. In addition, you can also make good use of evocative numbers to capture the attention of the public. Limit the title length as much as possible, preferably within 15 to 30 words.

The second tip is to keep your content fresh.

After all, everyone likes to stay on top of the latest news, not yesterday’s news. Therefore, it is very important to try to keep the information fresh. But please note that simply changing the publication date of past articles may be a bad strategy. Not only may you be penalized by search engines, but there are also other risks, so be careful!

I know that content production requires a lot of resources and effort. Therefore, I suggest that you use Google Search Console to understand the specific articles with the highest traffic in your company, and update these articles regularly.

As for which articles need to be modified and updated? For example, the link is broken, the image is broken, or the information in the article is out of date…etc. As long as the article encounters these conditions, it must be reorganized. When your company’s content is supplemented, it will naturally attract some new attention, but it will not affect the original article URL and SEO. It can be said to be the best content marketing strategy!

The third tip is to add a clickable table of contents within your article.

If you read some blog articles from time to time, it should not be difficult to find that many bloggers have begun to add directories to their articles. The purpose of establishing a table of contents is not only to facilitate visitors to browse and quickly grasp the key points, but also to help search engine crawlers understand the structure of your articles.
