Today is March 5th, which is also the day when “Watch MagazineIssue 198 is published. The cover story of this issue is “Understanding Customer Minds and Writing Excellent Copywriting”. As the name suggests, it explores issues related to copywriting.

I am honored to have this opportunity to be interviewed together with the founder of “The Beauty of Copywriting” [Lin Yusheng] (https://www.facebook.com/moinwawa) and A Yuan Soap. This interview was completed before the Lunar New Year. I still remember it was a gloomy afternoon. At that time, because of the poor lighting, the photographer took great pains when taking pictures and framing the scene!

Although when I was working in the media, I often interviewed people because of my work, but after leaving the media, the roles were reversed, and I felt a little fresh and curious in the familiar process.



Recalling that in the past, when I interviewed others, I always did my homework in advance. This time it was my turn to be interviewed, so I couldn’t be careless. Perhaps, because I had communicated the interview outline and structure with a journalist friend from “Watchinese” on Facebook beforehand, the conversation was particularly pleasant. Many examples may seem to come easily, but they are actually derived from observations in life and work, and there is often a lot of accumulation behind them.

In my years of lecturing and consulting, I’ve also encountered people who have always been skeptical about copywriting. Some people may think that if they don’t do e-commerce or online photography, or their work has nothing to do with business or sales, then they don’t need to learn to write copywriting?

For enterprises, copywriting is a way for their products to communicate with consumers. It is a spiritual journey that manufacturers and consumers share, and represents the brand’s vision and vision. For individuals, having the ability to write business documents is also a kind of copywriting power.

As I mentioned in the interview, even if office workers don’t need to do product copywriting, they still have to make presentations, write reports or organize meeting minutes, right? If every friend can learn some copywriting and content marketing skills, they will definitely get twice the result with half the effort in communication and expression.
